Visa requirements

You will need to obtain a visa to visit Sudan. Send us a scanned or photographed copy of the identity pages of your passport when you have booked. We will then obtain a letter of invitation from Khartoum which you have to submit as part of your visa application through your local Sudanese embassy or consulate. Most embassies and consulates also offer a postal option. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for the whole process to complete. Passports must be valid for at least six months after your departure from Sudan, have at least 2 clear pages, and no Israeli stamps. Single parents or other adults travelling with children should be aware that Sudanese embassies may require documentary evidence of parental responsibility before issuing a visa. For our German customers we offer the opportunity to assist them in obtaining their visa from the Sudanese Embassy in Berlin upon special arrangement.

US, Australian and New Zealand citizens will need to obtain their visa on arrival in Khartoum airport. Send us a scanned or photographed copy of the identity pages of your passport in advance so that we can arrange the visa approval (ideally at least 2 months before arrival). Once arranged, we will send you a landing permit – you must print this out and bring it with you, or you will not be allowed to board your flight to Khartoum. On arrival you will exchange this permit for a visa sticker in your passport. The cost for the visa on arrival is approximately 150 US$ for our procedures in Khartoum plus 150 US$ to be paid in cash to the customs officials on arrival.
